Retired Army veterans and West Point graduates Chané and Sandra Jackson have opened a D1 Training facility in Jollyville, applying their military leadership experience to provide structured athletic training for all ages while expanding the national franchise network.

Retired Army veterans Chané and Sandra Jackson have opened a new D1 Training facility in Jollyville, bringing decades of military leadership and discipline to the fitness enrichment concept. The facility, located at 11521 N FM 620, opened on June 2 and employs a sports-science backed training regimen led by certified trainers to help people of all ages achieve their sport and fitness goals. The Jacksons join a roster of impressive existing franchisees that includes professional athletes and notable sports figures.
The couple's military background provides a unique foundation for their fitness venture. Chané Jackson, a retired Green Beret and Army Ranger, graduated from West Point in 2004 and served as an Infantry officer before advancing to Special Forces Officer, with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Sandra Jackson, a retired Military Intelligence officer and 2006 West Point graduate, also completed significant deployments before transitioning to civilian life. Both hold advanced degrees in Operations Research/Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, bringing analytical expertise to their fitness business.
As veterans, we understand the power of discipline, teamwork, and resilience, qualities that are essential for success both on and off the field, said Sandra Jackson. D1 Training provides young athletes with the structure, mentorship, and resources they need to build confidence, develop strong work ethics, and reach their full potential. The facility's training methodology is based on five athletic-based tenets: dynamic warm-up, performance, strength program, core and conditioning, and cool down.
The Jollyville location offers four age-based programs including Rookie (ages 7-11), Developmental (ages 12-14), Prep (ages 15-18) and Graduate (18+). Beyond group workouts, D1 Training provides team, semi-private, and one-on-one training with world-class coaches. The facility is part of D1 Training's strategic national expansion through franchising, with more than 100 performance centers open and over 100 additional locations in various stages of development. The opening represents the growing trend of veterans transitioning their military skills into civilian entrepreneurship, particularly in the fitness industry where discipline and leadership are highly valued. D1 Training, founded in 2001 by former NFL player Will Bartholomew, has established itself as one of the fastest growing private companies in the nation, currently impacting the lives of approximately 30,000 athletes nationwide.
